Located on Wufu Road, New Jyuejiang Shopping Area is the largest market in Kaohsiung for foreign goods. Originally as a part of Datong Commercial Area, New Jyuejiang Shopping Area can still find its way out after the closure of President Department Store. It has now become the gathering place for the youngsters of Kaohsiung, where the trendiest and most fashionable goods can be found. The shopping mall is divided into a number of business units at 1 to 2 ping (3 to 6 ㎡) to sell unique Japanese and Korean products purchased by the owners, including trendy ornaments, clothing, high quality clocks and watches, imported home ornaments, jewelry of famous brands and special collections, so that you can enjoy the fun of shopping like having a treasure hunt and going into a maze. Numerous stalls for trendy clothing, ornaments and snacks are located outside the New Jyuejiang Shopping Area shopping area and extended all the way north to the lane of Linsen Road. The products are sold at a low price with a room to bargain and visitors can even take a rest in nearby restaurants. It takes about 10 minutes drive from the hotel.

Kaisyuan Night Market
Located at the intersection of Kaixuan 4th Road and Ruitian Street, what was once the Blue Lagoon Water Park has become today’s Kaisyuan Night Market. Housing a total of 1,000 booths for hawkers and vendors on a vast stretch of land in excess of 29,700 m2, the Kaisyuan Night Market is renowned as the largest night market in Taiwan. Connected to major roads (including Yixin, Ersheng, Sanduo and other numerically numbered roads to Shiquan) in Kaohsiung City for easy navigation and identification of stores, the Kaisyuan Night Market is rich in local flavors. With the rolls of scaffolding under red and blue canvas roofs in plain sight, the night market serves as a point of convergence for the most famous vendors of classic Kaohsiung cuisines and snacks to congregate. Here at the night market one can find various “dollar foods” that the place is famous for, such as oyster omelet, smelly tofu, fried rice-noodles, Taiwanese hotdogs, kebabs, intestines and oyster noodles, tempura, hot grass jelly, Dongshan duck head, deep-fried bread bowl, pearl milk tea, various freshly prepared fruit juices, scallion cakes and so forth.
